Local firefighters honoured for years of service

Last Thursday, the Ontario Fire Marshal presented Long service medals and bars to firefighters from Chatham-Kent, Lambton and Essex Counties for their years of service within their departments.
The Ontario Fire Services Long Service Medal is awarded to fire service personnel who have attained 25 years with the fire service.
Also firefighters who have served 40 or 45 years were recognized at the investiture with a long service bar.
The firefighters from Chatham-Kent that were were:

Scott Campbell Station Chief Station 12 in Harwich North
Doug Hastings Firefighter Station 10 in Orford
Douglas Jackson Firefighter Station 16 in Raleigh South
Marlene Juttens Inspector Station 01 in Chatham
Richard Lapp Captain Station 02 in Chatham
William McBrayne Firefighter Station 06 in Dresden
Terry Myers Captain Station 08 in Thamesville
Robert Shaw Firefighter Station 08 in Thamesville
Art Van Belle Captain Station 03 in Wallaceburg
Stephen VanKerkhoven Captain Station 02 in Chatham
Jeff VanSickle Firefighter Station 15 in Raleigh North
Mark Zimmer Captain Station 03 in Wallaceburg
45 year Service Bar
Douglas Ford Captain Station 10 in Orford
George Parry Station Chief Station 10 in Orford
40 year Service Bar
Brian Pepper Station Chief Station 16 in Raleigh South
The fire department also acknowledged the firefighters from Chatham-Kent who have served 30 or 35 years. They will also receive provincial long service bars through the department, which they will obtain at a later date.
